Library Card Information: Residents of the City of Friona may be issued a free library card. This card is good for a period of 1 year, renewable annually. Currently, tax support is received from the City of Friona taxpayers only. To receive a card, you must present photo identification and proof of legal residence and to fill out a library card application. A valid driver's license, utility bill, or voter's registration card are examples of proof of address. Registration can only be done at the library and the card will be mailed to your address. The library card is required for service. There is a $3 charge for lost cards. Non-residents
Currently, there is no charge for non-resident borrowers to register for a library card because the Friona Public Library participates in the state programs TexShare and Loan Star. However, a parent's signature is required for users under 18 years of age and for Internet access.

Public Internet Access Policy The Friona Public Library participates in the national interlibrary loan program that permits the library to borrow materials for its patrons from other libraries. This interlibrary loan service is available to all patrons whose record is clear of fines and overdue items. Books, photocopies of periodical articles, or electronic media not owned by our library may be requested through interlibrary loan although there may be limits imposed. The Friona Public Library does not charge for interlibrary loan service other than return postage; however, the patron is responsible for any charges or fines imposed by the lending library including insurance, copy, loan, lost or damaged item fees. The library may restrict the number of items requested by an individual or meter the number of items referred through interlibrary loan when necessary to ensure fair, equitable and timely service within the constraints of budget and staffing. |
