As our patrons purchase, or receive as a gift, eReaders such as the iPad, Kindle, Nook, etc., they are looking to their public library for eBooks.
Through the Harrington Library Consortium, public libraries, throughout the panhandle, are able to provide a large, and still growing, selection of eBooks for patrons of all ages. The HLC provides this service through its partnership with OverDrive, one of the leaders in digital distribution.
All Library card-holders have access to this online virtual library which is available at your finger-tips both within the Library and remote locations, such as your home, school, or work place.

HLC is on the cutting edge of development in two ways. HLC was the first network in the United States to include diverse libraries in a shared environment, and the HLC
patron card is reported to be the first accepted as a universal library card.
The Consortium provides library automation products and services, training and continuing education, exploration of innovative technologies and products, and library business intelligence for informed decision-making. |
